Terex Welcomes Central Equipment Company As New Articulated, Rigid Truck Distributor →

Central Equipment Company now distributes a full line of Terex articulated and rigid trucks to its customers in Pocatello, Jerome and Heyburn, Idaho. New Vanguard Truck Center Facility Opens Outside Austin →

Vanguard Truck Center of Austin, a member of the Vanguard Truck Centers dealer group, marked the opening of a $4.5 million truck center facility in Buda, Texas on Oct. 2. The group, which distributes Mack Trucks, Inc. and Volvo Trucks North America products, also owns facilities in Atlanta, Houston, Tucson, and Phoenix. Navistar and Caterpillar Announce Global Truck Joint Venture NC2 →

Navistar International Corporation and Caterpillar Inc. closed a joint venture transaction resulting in a new company, NC2 Global LLC, to serve the global commercial truck market. For the fourth year in a row, Komatsu America Corp. helped launch more than 20,000 rubber ducks into the Chicago River in the annual “Windy City Rubber Ducky Derby” to benefit the Special Olympics. Nuss Truck Keeps on Delivering Excellence in Minn., Wis. →

Before there were computers to keep track of all available parts, a good memory was a vital business tool. Bob Nuss started his career in the late 60’s running a parts counter for his father, Charley, at Mack of Rockford, Ill. Bob Nuss had just graduated from St. Cloud with a business degree. “There were no computers then and we had to memorize everything,” Nuss said. “Now, with computers, the operation moves much faster.”Nuss advanced as the manager of a Mack Truck dealership in the early ’70’s, in Rochester, Minn., and took the leap to purchase the business, which was to become the first of several businesses he would purchase in the years to come.  Click for more...


EX1200 Loads Trucks Every 80 Seconds at Quarry in Oahu →

Fifty-ton (45 t) haul trucks scurry about the new quarry being established by Grace Pacific Corporation on the Hawaiian island of Oahu. Like ants from a pile of honey they scurry from the Hitachi EX1200, one every minute and 20 seconds, their beds heaped high. Kenworth Hybrid Trucks Qualify for Federal Tax Credits →

Purchasers of certain Kenworth medium duty diesel-electric hybrid trucks in the United States are eligible for a tax credit of up to $12,000, under a qualified hybrid motor vehicle credit available from the federal government. The U.S. Department of Treasury and Internal Revenue Service recently certified the tax credit eligibility of Kenworth T370 Class 7 and Kenworth T270 Class 6 hybrid trucks in both pickup and delivery and utility boom applications, when equipped with a PACCAR PX-6 engine and an Eaton diesel-electric hybrid power system.  Click for more...
