New Bridge a ’Bare’ Necessity for Big Bear Lake →

The Big Bear community in San Bernardino County, Calif., will see the construction of a new bridge along a new alignment of State Route 18 over the canyon, downstream from the dam at Big Bear Lake. The new 475-ft. (144.8 m) long bridge will incorporate 12-ft. (3.7 m) lanes, one 12-ft. turn lane and 10-ft. (3 m) shoulders. In addition, a 5-ft. (53,698 kg) WA600-6 wheel loader is designed primarily for quarry, sand and gravel, industrial and smaller mining applications. The WA600-6 is powered by a Komatsu Tier III, SAA6D170E-5 six-cylinder engine, producing 502 hp (374 kW) at 1,800 RPM. The 944, fitted with a 2-cu. yd. (1.5 cu. m) bucket and available with either a 105-hp (78 kW) gas or diesel engine, was the culmination of a seven-year development effort. Case Refurbishes 500th Military Wheel Loader →

Case Construction Equipment has completed remanufacturing of its 500th MW24C wheel loader under contract with U.S. Army TACOM (Tank, Automotive and Armaments Command) and the Army National Guard. During the past six years, Case has been called on to remanufacture 250 wheel loaders for the National Guard and reset another 250 units for TACOM. Road Machinery LLC (RML), the Komatsu dealer for Arizona, Southern California, New Mexico and the El Paso area of Texas, hosted a joint board meeting Oct. 28 between the Arizona AGC and Arizona Builders' Alliance (ABA).
