Major design features for truck climbing lanes on Interstate 81 in Rockbridge County have been approved by Virginia Department of Transportation Chief Engineer Malcolm T. Kerley. The approval was given on March 13. VDOT held a design public hearing concerning a truck climbing lane proposed for northbound Interstate 81 in Rockbridge County on Nov. 8. Oshkosh Corp. Takes Out ’Truck’ From Its Name →
From Construction Equipment Guide... APPLETON, Wis. (AP) Oshkosh Truck Corp. has dropped the ’Truck’ from its name. The manufacturer of specialty emergency, military and other vehicles, said shareholders approved a proposal to rename the company Oshkosh Corp. at its annual meeting on Feb. 5 in Appleton. The change takes effect immediately. The board of directors had recommended that shareholders approve the measure. The Oshkosh-based company said in a December note to shareholders that the current name didn’t reflect the breadth of its product lines and it didn’t want to reference any specific product in its name. The verification formally recognizes the Caterpillar passive filter system as effective and reliable in achieving at least an 85 percent reduction in particulate matter exhaust emissions.
