From Construction Equipment Guide... Engcon's new EC233 series tiltrotator is now in production. Engcon is a leading manufacturer of tiltrotators — a kind of tilting and rotating quick coupler for excavators. The EC233 has a break torque of 340 kNm (240,771 lbf-ft), making it the market's most powerful tiltrotator built for excavators up to 36 ton (33 t), according to the manufacturer. Curtis Contracting Builds Va. Reservoir →

From Construction Equipment Guide... Curtis Contracting Inc. , West Point, Va., is currently working on a reservoir project for Greensville County, Va. When complete, the reservoir will serve as the county's raw-water facility, with an approximate storage capacity of 1 billion gal. Martin Harrell, project manager of Curtis Contracting, who has been with the company for five years, reported the project began December of 2017 and currently has a 730-day duration, which allows for a substantial completion date of December 2019.  Click for more...

JCB Wins More U.S. Army Orders for High Mobility Engineer Excavators  →

JCB has received an extension to its current production contract with the Department of Defense to manufacture high mobility engineer excavators (HMEEs) for the United States Army. The $72.8 million deal for approximately 180 HMEEs will continue production through 2020. A new multi-year contract is expected in the future and will further HMEE production into the middle of the next decade. JCB manufactures the HMEE at its North America headquarters near Savannah. In August, the company hosted military and community leaders, and visiting dignitaries, at the facility to commemorate the production of 1,000 HMEEs for the U.S.  Click for more...

The C34 compactor has a vibration force of 7,495 lb.
