Aggregate Equipment Guide
Powerscreen’s Chieftain 1400 rinser is a high capacity, fully mobile washing screen that includes a feed hopper complete with reject grid, feed conveyor, washing screen and fully enclosed power unit.
Standard split-bottom deck produces one or two grades of sand. With an optional double-deck vibrating grid on the feeder, four sized/washed products can be produced. On-board conveyors can stockpile midsize and oversize products without traditional stand-alone conveyors.
The Chieftain 1400 is designed for fast, easy setup and relocation for short to medium term projects. It can be converted easily to a dry screen by replacing the catchbox with a tail conveyor.
Standard equipment includes a four-bearing screen box. hydraulic folding conveyors, hydraulic screen angle adjustment, radio-controlled tipping grid, five top deck and five bottom deck high-pressure spray bars, spray bar on wash box, slurry catchbox, screen walkway and access ladder, diesel engine protection shut-down system.
Available with a wheeled or tracked undercarriage and single or double-deck vibrating grizzly. Other options include hydraulic screen tensioning, radio-controlled tracking, 12- or 14-ft. hopper, and diesel or electric hydraulic drive on the wheel version.
Incoming material is conveyed to the wash box, where high volume of water is added to form a slurry. High pressure spray bars on the top and bottom decks rinse the material as it passes down the screen.
Fine sand and silts are flushed from the aggregate and through the bottom deck meshes to a dewatering unit — typically a Powerscreen Finesmaster 120. The bottom deck/catchbox is split to keep the products separate.
