Aggregate Equipment Guide
Moxy Trucks’ web of distributors has seen a significant amount of changes over the past year.
National Sales Manger Kevin O’Donnell said Moxy had been affiliated in the past with dealers representing another major manufacturer until it introduced its own line of trucks at 2002’s ConExpo-Con/AGG.
So instead, O’Donnell said it has been seeking independent dealers — usually those representing single-line manufacturers that needed a truck line to fulfill the needs of its customers.
Among its newer dealers, he said Moxy is regarded as one of their major lines, whereas in the past, it held more of a secondary standing.
Since the moves, “we have seen a tremendous increase in market penetration,” O’Donnell said. In Georgia — what he said is the second largest truck market in the country — Stafford ordered 35 trucks right off the bat to catapult Moxy into the mix. The other American dealers that have been added over the past year are Eastern Equipment in Massachusetts, Tracy Road in New York, Highway Equipment in Western Pennsylvania, Link-Belt Construction Equipment in Eastern Pennsylvania, Nationwide in Florida, Howell Tractor in Western Indiana and Northern Illinois, Moxy Equipment Company in Western Ohio and Gibson Machinery in Eastern Ohio.
There are several markets throughout the country that are not represented by a dealership and O’Donnell hopes to see these gaps filled soon.
The Cincinnati, Ohio-based Moxy had focused most of its efforts on the East Coast, but is now looking west. To meet the pending demand, it has increased production.
