National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association
Ted Baker II, CEO of Blue Water Industries, was named the 2025 board chair of the National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA).
Outgoing Board Chair Jim Nickolas, Martin Marietta, handed off the gavel during a ceremony at the 2025 NSSGA annual convention.
"I'm honored to be the next chair of NSSGA," said Baker. "And what an honor to chair the 25th year of this great association. I want my tenure to be about welcoming everyone. When we work together, when we speak with one voice, we're so much more effective than when we're on our own."
Baker shared his vision for the association during his remarks, highlighting opportunities presented to the industry and emphasizing his leadership goals. He then shared his own background in the aggregates industry, beginning in his family's business to running aggregates businesses of his own. He closed his remarks by calling on attendees to bring the energy of the event home with them and reminding members that everyone in the industry is connected.
Baker's experience spans decades at small, medium and large aggregates producers. He joined the industry first by working in a concrete block plant and ready-mix plant for his family's business. He currently serves as chief executive officer of Blue Water Industries, a company he founded.
The membership meeting also included recognition of outgoing leaders and the presentation of the Barry K. Wendt Memorial Commitment Award, the most distinguished individual award presented by NSSGA. The keynote was a moderated discussion by football legend Archie Manning.
