Farm-rite, Inc. based in Shiloh, NJ, recently sold the first JCB 718 articulated dump truck in the Mid-Atlantic Region to Advantage Rental & Sales, of Seaville, NJ.
The unit will be immediately placed on a long-term rental to Action Supply, also of Seaville, NJ, according to Tom Tower, of Advantage Rental.
The 718 will be mainly used to move processed concrete sand from Action’s dredging operation to Action’s concrete plant, according to Frank Carpino, vice president, of Action Supply.
Action Supply started in the concrete processing industry in 1984. Since then the company has become a processing and reclamation enterprise serving the southern New Jersey area. Action also is a manufacturer and supplier of oversized concrete blocks that can be used in a myriad of construction and job-site applications.
According to Don Strang, president of Farm-Rite, “The JCB 718 and its little brother 714 take the place of the original 712. This new range is being developed by JCB to better meet the market need for a high performance smaller off-road articulated dump truck that provides maximum ease of operation and serviceability.
“JCB is back in the articulated truck business in a big way,” said Strang. “Using the latest technologies available in the areas of computer-aided design, robotic fabrication and computer-controlled componentry, JCB has launched two new models and is very close to launching a third [the 722] based on the light, articulated dump truck design JCB pioneered.”
Tower stated that he and his associates at Advantage are excited about this new range of smaller, agile articulated haul trucks. Tower said that because of the trucks’ size and low ground pressures, he sees a great need for these trucks for his customers in larger concrete plants but also in golf course construction and reconstruction as well as on new housing developments.
