Aggregate Equipment Guide
The new R155 high energy screener from McCloskey International provides a true 16- by 5-ft. (4.8 by 1.5 m) screenbox, with a full 155 sq. ft. (14 sq m) of screening area, for maximum production in the heaviest screening applications.
The high-energy screenbox is designed to maximize throughput for a full range of rock, quarry, C&D and soil products.
The R155 model is the first vibratory screener in the nominal 16- by 5-ft. class to be equipped with an upper screen that measures a true 16 by 5 ft., coupled with a lower screen deck measuring 15 by 5 ft. (4.6 by 1.5 m).
With an extra large top-mounted hopper, a 125-hp (93 kW) Caterpillar engine plus the McCloskey high energy screenbox, the R155 processes heavy rock and quarry materials while producing finer material with equal efficiency. McCloskey said the R155 can handle primary screening for feeding a crusher, for example, as well as screening finished products.
The R155 is built around the high energy screenbox, which can run with a high-powered vibratory stroke of up to 0.4 in. (10 mm) at 950 rpm, or 0.2 in. (6 mm) at 1,130 rpm.
The screenbox is available with a complete range of screening decks including the standard punch plate and optional woven mesh, finger deck or Bofar bar deck.
To keep pace with the production capacity of its screenbox, the R155 has been fitted with a hopper that’s 30 percent larger, or more, compared to other units in this screener range. The new 10.5 cu. yd. (8 cu m) hopper also introduces a new design that effectively eliminates the spillage problems common to this type of equipment. The system is configured to allow loading from the rear of the screener with most standard loaders.
